Instructors //
After each student completes his/her classroom portion of the driving school, he/she will drive the required eight hours with either myself or one of the five driving instructors listed below. Each of the instructors have been certified by the Ohio Department of Transportation. Our main focal point is to prepare each student as best we can to ensure that the student successfully passes the driving examination on their first attempt and becomes an aware and knowledgeable driver.
If the student has a preference of which instructor they would like to drive with, we will try our best to make arrangements to ensure that the request is met. If there is no preference, the student will be assigned to either myself or one of the five instructors. The student will be contacted by his/her assigned instructor approximately three months after the student receives his/her permit to schedule the first of three drives: the student does not contact the instructor.

Helen has been an instructor at St. Henry Driving School since early in 2011 shortly after retiring from a long career as Assistant Treasurer at St. Henry Schools. She also helped direct transportation for St. Henry Schools and received her school bus driver's license in 2006. Helen graduated from Marion Local High School and attended Wright State University. She has lived in rural St. Henry since 1968 and has three grown children: Diane (Neal) Clune and Greg (Angie) Uhlenhake, all from St. Henry, and Bev (Sue) Uhlenhake from Brewer, Maine. She also has seven grandchildren. Helen enjoys her work as a behind-the-wheel instructor and prides herself in making an otherwise intimidating experience into one that is both pleasurable and down-to-business.

Pam first started working for St. Henry Driving School in 2017. She currently resides in St. Henry with her husband, Jim, and they have two adult girls and two granddaughters. Pam's past work experience includes working for Honda. Besides working as a Driving Instructor, she also subs as the school secretary in St. Henry and subs in the school cafeteria.

Doug Schmit

Doug has been working with St. Henry Driving School since the Fall of 2019. He currently resides in St. Henry and has two step-daughters, Amy and Megan, and two children, Sophie and Eli. Doug's current work experience includes working for Post Printing Company in Minster since 1990.

Karl has been working with St. Henry Driving School since January of 2020. He currently resides in Coldwater with his wife, Deb, and they have four children (two boys and two girls) and three grandchildren. Karl's current work experience includes being self-employed as a Commercial Utilities Broker and also as the Owner/Operator of Buckeye Duct Cleaning.
